hippie subculture

This is another project completed while on exchange at the University of Brighton. We were asked to research a subculture of our choice, and then create a work that we felt encapsulated that particular group. I chose ‘hippies’ as a subculture and decided to create two A2 posters. 

My goal was to highlight the hippies’ passion for creating and maintaining societal ideals of freedom and peace. The vivid colours used in the posters also pay tribute to the psychedelic aspect of the subculture, recreating the unique filter that hippies viewed the world through, and that they’ve come to be defined by.
